Is it worth it to bring my telescope out in the morning daylight...?

Yes, you can see it with the naked eye, but your telescope will allow you to time the occulting more precisely and to see greater detail. So bring out the telescope an hour or so early to allow it to come to ambient temperature and then enjoy a great sight (hope the weather is good for you - don't know the forecast for your area).
