My WW2 Veteran dad behaving strangely? Strange remarks?

He served with 101st Airborne and was one of the first americans to set foot on nazi germany, a recipient of purple heart. His brigade had lived through some very fierce fights although he never commented on it. His friends say he was a war hero and I believe them. Lately he is saying stuff like "The puppets in washington and their foreign puppetmasters are gonna make us kill our brothers again like they did back in my times." and stuff like that, specifically talking about conspiracies, 9-11, USS liberty incident etc. So he is calling germans and iranians brothers for some reason. We have german heritage in our family but n nazis. Why do you think that he is behaving that way? is it normal?
