Easy Fancy Dress ideas?

So im going to a fancy dress party, but i dont know what to wear! i dont want to have to rent an outfit, so i want an easy 'homemade' outfit. I can be pretty crafty when i put my mind to it, but at the moment i'm blank. Any suggestions? Thanks (:
