Why does it seem as though Islam is just as crazy as Christianity?

All religions are crazy and have their flaws. That's what makes them so interesting. If there was a perfect worldwide religion that would be BORING. If there wasn't any religion at all, most of the culture on Earth would probably have never developed, which would also be boring.
