Single dads and step-moms?

I'm a stepmom and would never make such a stipulation or even 'hint' at one if I really truly loved your father. It just doesn't ring true. She knows the situation and that your Dad is comfortable with you at home so she either needs to come to grips with it or not marry your Dad. I also agree that he should have a pre-nuptual agreement. How long have they been dating? Perhaps your Dad is moving too fast because of loneliness, etc. Does he know your feelings? Why not have a heart to heart and let him know that you don't want to come between them, but you aren't ready to go it alone. Your plans are to become independent as soon as possible but school has to take a precedent right now. See what he says. You don't have to mention that she has hinted anything but you may ask him to talk with her about the situation and get everything out in the open and cleared up. It's the best way. Avoid mistakes now, not later!
