How do you stop the HTC Wildfire from loading up every fone number from Facebook into the fones conacts list ?

My daughters new HTC Wildfire have loaded her contacts list with over 600 Facebook contacts !! making her contacts list difficult o use. How do you get rid of them. The online help is next to useless.
