Earlier today I had a cavity filled and now it hurts to open my mouth. Will the pain go away soon?

Two things may have happened. Your TMJ may have been stressed from holding it open so wide and so long. Also the shot may have bruised the muscle it goes through and this will cause soreness. Use heat and ibuprofen to help take the swelling and soreness away. Good luck with your TMJ treatment
